BBC Radio 1 had a campaign around that time titled Get Hasselhoff To Number 1 to get Jump In My Car to Number One in the UK Charts which was well supported and I contributed to it by entering my email address into the online petition.

David Hasselhoff or The Hoff as he has become commonly known in recent years is an American Film and TV actor who has also had a successful singing career in Europe in particularly Germany.
In Germany they are particularly fond of him as in 1989 he stood on The Berlin Wall and sung Looking For Freedom.
There are theorists who believe that it was The Hoff who ended the Cold War but Reagan and Gorbachov took the credit.Well, I for one would not be surprised as it is the mark of a great man to perform such an incredible deed and not seek credit for it.
Best known for his TV roles in Knight Rider in the 80s for which I used to rush home from school to watch and Baywatch throughout the 90s for which he also produced, Baywatch was hugely successful and many throughout the world would say it is the most inspiring TV show ever.
I have faith in The Hoff to come up with a solution to save the planet should an asteroid be heading for earth threatening to destroy us all (same scenario as Armageddon).
In recent years The Hoff has been a judge alongside Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne on America's Got Talent, no disrespect to Piers or Sharon but as a Hoff disciple I would regard The Hoff as The Supreme Judge and am sure there are many that would agree with me.

News as emerged as of January 2010 that David Hasselhoff has left America's Got Talent, he wishes to move onto doing a new TV Show. America's Got Talent will not be the same show without The Hoff!
